A Dearborn-based group who came together on the social networking site Facebook are calling for Muslims to protest against the actions of a Nigerian man accused of trying to bring down Northwest Airlines flight 253 en route to Detroit Metro Airport on Christmas Day."It's very frustrating to know that these guys are using Islam and committing terror," he said. "Islam stands for peace."
Moughini's Facebook group, Dearborn Area Community Members, is open to people of all faiths within Dearborn. However, they're specifically calling for local Muslims to rally during the hearing for suspected Nigerian terrorist Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. The rally is scheduled for 1:oopm on January 8th at U.S. District Court in Detroit.
Information about the protest is being posted on the group's Facebook page. They urge, "Please bring your signs, and American flags: theme: 'NOT IN THE NAME OF ISLAM." And also, "Expect a large presence of the world media."

This is a great idea that we hope will clear the air and make people realize that US Muslims do not support violence and never have.

You are right. Dearborn's Muslims have never supported violence, fraud, tax evasion... but they sure as hell haven't done nothing about turning in other Muslims and Dearborn Officials tied to those activities either.

Im a Muslim who works in law enforcement, and do bust people for fraudulent activity. regardless of religion or culture.
The numbers are across the board with respect to fraud, tax evasion, etc.
How many people have you turned in for the same laws broken regardless or race, national origin, and religion? Don't criticize one group of people until you get your numbers straight. And why arent you turning in your "associates" for the same scandals.
Please remember that a criminal is a criminal, regardless of what language they speak and what religion they practice hence, Madoff, Enron execs, THE ENTIRE BANKING INDUSTRY!

Well, they have not been vocal and because of this all muslims are being painted with the same brush. And perhaps rightly so. I have come to the conclusion that islam is not really a religion at all but a terror wrapped in religion and not much different than nazism. Nazism was treated LIKE a religion and, of course, had its own god. I think that all Americans, including all muslims and in particular muslims who are women should read Mein Kampf and the koran together.
